Mahkota By-election Nomination Period Closes

14th September 2024- The nomination process for the Mahkota state by-election concluded at 10 AM on September 14, 2024, after opening for an hour at 9 AM.
Returning Officer Azurawati Wahid announced the official closure at Dewan Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, Kluang. Despite the center opening at 9 AM, supporters of candidates began arriving as early as 6:45 AM.
The by-election is necessary due to the death of incumbent Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain in August. Polling will be held on September 28, with early voting on September 24. The campaign period runs for 14 days, as stated in Bernama.
