The Election Commission (EC) has set up strict standard operating procedures to ensure a smooth and transparent voting process. Election personnel are on-site to oversee the proceedings, ensuring that each step follows the necessary protocols to maintain the integrity of the electoral process. The voting is part of the state’s efforts to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of its assemblyman.

The main polling day for the Mahkota constituency is scheduled for this Saturday, where the majority of the voters will cast their ballots. A total of 31,000 registered voters are expected to participate in this election, which has attracted attention from various political parties. Campaigning has been ongoing, with candidates and their supporters urging voters to turn out in large numbers.

This by-election is significant as it will influence the political landscape of the area. The Mahkota seat is seen as a crucial battleground, with political analysts predicting a tight race between the major parties. The final results of the early voting will be added to the overall tally on polling day, which will determine the new representative for the constituency.

The Election Commission will announce the official results after the conclusion of voting on Saturday, as stated in The Star.
