Major Recall Announced for 34,000+ Toyota and Mercedes Vehicles
By Subaashinee Kupusamy,
14 SEPTEMBER: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced a significant recall impacting over 34,000 vehicles across Malaysia. This includes approximately 24,000 Toyota cars and 10,000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles manufactured in the past eight years. The recall is part of a global safety measure to address specific issues that could pose risks to vehicle safety and performance.
The Toyota recall covers a range of models, with concerns about potential defects in the airbag system, which could fail to deploy correctly in an accident. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz recall involves problems with the braking system, potentially affecting the car’s stopping ability.
Owners of these vehicles are advised to contact their respective dealerships to arrange for free inspections and necessary repairs. The manufacturers have assured that all repairs will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle owners.
JPJ emphasizes the importance of addressing these recalls promptly to ensure the safety of all road users. Vehicle owners can check their car’s eligibility for recall and obtain further information through the official JPJ website or directly from their car dealers as stated in Saysdotcom.
