Malaysia and Indonesia Enhance Energy Transition Cooperation

7th September 2024 – At the Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 in Jakarta, Malaysia and Indonesia reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate on energy transition and renewable energy.
Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, met with Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation on energy transition and water management.
Additionally, discussions with Indonesia’s Minister of Energy, Bahlil Lahadalia, explored joint green energy efforts. Both nations emphasized the importance of strengthening ASEAN’s sustainable energy initiatives to ensure long-term economic and environmental benefits, as stated in Bernama.
