Kuala Lumpur, 17th August – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that government workers in Malaysia will receive a pay increase starting from December 2024.
This move is part of the government’s efforts to ease the financial burden on civil servants, especially during challenging economic times.
Anwar shared that the decision was made after considering the rising cost of living and the need to support those serving in the public sector. He emphasized that the pay hike is also aimed at recognizing the hard work and dedication of government employees.
The Prime Minister assured that this increase will be fair and significant, although exact details of the pay rise were not disclosed. Anwar also mentioned that this adjustment is just one of several measures the government plans to introduce to improve the welfare of civil servants.
This pay increase is expected to boost morale among government workers and contribute to a more efficient and motivated public service. The move has been welcomed by various unions and civil servant groups, who have long been advocating for better wages, as stated in MSN
