Malaysia Shines with Two Gold Medals at London Open DanceSport Championship

24 SEPTEMBER: Malaysia’s national dance sport team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2024 London Open DanceSport Championship, winning two prestigious gold medals. The Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF) confirmed that Cherry Yeo secured the gold in the Adult Women’s Latin Solo event, while Madeleine Lau triumphed in the Junior Women’s Latin Solo category.
Both dancers captivated the judges with their exceptional skill and artistic flair, earning them top honours in their respective categories. Cherry’s victory also boosted her world ranking to second in the Adult Women’s Latin Solo, while Madeleine climbed to fourth in the Junior Women’s Latin Solo ranking.
MYDF credited the success to the dedication and guidance of coaches Chua Zjen Fong and Evon Chong from MY Dance Sport Academy. The competition saw participation from 25 countries, making Malaysia’s achievement even more remarkable as stated in BERNAMA.
