TAIPEI, 03 December 2025: Malaysian youths delivered a stellar performance at the World Robot Games 2025 (WRG), held from 25 November to 1 December in Taipei, Taiwan. The national delegation returned home with more than 80 medals, reaffirming Malaysia’s growing strength in robotics and STEM education.
A contingent of 24 students from Tamil-medium and national secondary schools represented Malaysia, with each participant reportedly earning at least one medal. Their success spanned multiple WRG categories, from robot sumo to programming, innovation and design, showcasing versatility and depth.

Local officials and educators praised the students’ achievement as a triumph of dedication and hard work. The chairman of the Penang Tamil Schools Special Committee described the feat as a testament to the potential of STEM education in reaching global standards.
The students prepared for the games under the guidance of the Syscore Academy, which provided coaching in coding, robotics engineering, teamwork and problem-solving, skills critical for success on an international stage.
Support came not only from the academy, but also from parents, community leaders, and state education stakeholders, especially from Penang’s Tamil-school network, which has been pushing for expanded access to technology and innovation education.
This breakthrough performance places Malaysia prominently on the global robotics map. It signals that with exposure, resources, and mentorship, young Malaysians, even from underrepresented school systems, can compete internationally.
At a time when global competition in STEM is intensifying, the WRG success demonstrates that Malaysia is building a new generation of innovators and technical thinkers.
