Man Confirmed Murdered, Body Discarded in River

By Subaashinee Kupusamy,

1 OCTOBER: Police have confirmed that Sabari Baharom, a 62-year-old former Felcra financial officer who was reported missing earlier this month, was murdered. The authorities arrested two suspects, aged 26 and 38, in connection with the crime. According to investigations, Sabari was tied up and thrown into the Padang Terap River in Kubang Pasu. The suspects admitted to the crime, but his body has yet to be found.

The investigation began when Sabari’s vehicle was discovered burned in a ravine, raising suspicions of foul play. Authorities noted that there were irregular bank transactions prior to his disappearance, prompting concerns of abduction. However, it was later confirmed that Sabari had been murdered and his remains discarded in the river.

A thorough search operation is ongoing, and the police are continuing efforts to locate Sabari’s body. While they remain hopeful of a breakthrough, they have advised the public against spreading rumours or speculating on the incident, out of respect for the victim’s family. The case has drawn considerable public attention due to the disturbing nature of the crime, with many awaiting further developments in the investigation.

The authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward to assist in their efforts. As of now, no motive has been officially disclosed, and the investigation continues as stated in BULETIN TV3.
