Mani Ratnam Set to Make History Again with Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan

Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam, known for directing Tamil cinema icons Kamal Haasan in the 1987 classic ‘Nayakan’ and Rajinikanth in the 1991 masterpiece ‘Thalapathi’, appears to be on the brink of making history once again.
Both films are regarded as timeless gems in Kollywood, and now, reports indicate that Mani Ratnam is preparing to collaborate with both superstars in back-to-back projects.Currently, Ratnam is working on the highly anticipated gangster film ‘Thug Life’ with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, a project that has already completed filming and is slated for a Summer 2025 release.
But the buzz doesn’t stop there. Rumours are swirling that the celebrated director’s next venture will see him reuniting with none other than Superstar Rajinikanth. This potential partnership would mark the first time in 33 years that Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam have teamed up, sparking excitement among fans who have been eagerly waiting for such a reunion.
If these reports hold true, the official announcement is expected to drop on December 12th, Rajinikanth’s birthday, making it an even more special occasion for his admirers. Adding to the grandeur of the rumoured project, musical maestro Isai Puyal AR Rahman is likely to compose the score, further elevating the anticipation for this potential cinematic collaboration.
