Message editing will soon be available to WhatsApp Web beta users

Kuala Lumpur, April 29: WhatsApp is introducing the edit message feature to WhatsApp Web, its browser-based version, via its beta programme. To access the functionality, users must opt-in to the beta and select the “Join the beta” option.
WABetaInfo allows users to view the message’s menu by clicking on the dropdown symbol in the top right corner. Messages that have been edited will have a brief notice next to the timestamp at the bottom indicating that they have been changed – The Star
The latest version of the mobile app can display modified messages without issue, but the desktop software will display the message: “A message in this chat was edited.” The feature will eventually make its way to the app’s mobile versions.
