Monsoon Transition: Pahang Hit by Floods
By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran
14th OCTOBER: Pahang has become the latest state to face floods during the monsoon transition phase. The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) reported that several areas in Kuantan were affected, with over 100 individuals evacuated to temporary shelters. Heavy rainfall, especially in low-lying regions, has contributed to the rising water levels. Several rivers in the state have exceeded danger levels, and residents are advised to remain cautious. The Meteorological Department has issued continuous rain warnings for other states as the monsoon season progresses. Evacuation and relief efforts are underway, as stated in The Star.
