Mother Dies, Son Injured in Tragic Temerloh Road Accident

PAHANG, 7 August: A tragic accident occurred in Temerloh, Pahang, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to her son. The incident took place on the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) near the 132.4km mark around 10:25 AM.

The victims were traveling in a car driven by the 38-year-old woman, accompanied by her 12-year-old son. Their vehicle collided with two lorries, causing severe damage. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, while her son sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The drivers of the lorries were unharmed.

Initial investigations by the police revealed that the woman lost control of her vehicle before colliding with the first lorry, which was moving slowly in the left lane. The impact caused the car to spin and subsequently collide with a second lorry in the right lane.

Fire and Rescue Department personnel were dispatched to the scene to extricate the victims from the wreckage. The accident led to a temporary closure of the affected lanes, causing traffic congestion in the area.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. They have urged witnesses to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
