M’sian Tamil short film grabs 2nd spot for ‘Best Experimental Film’ award

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9
: Malaysian Tamil short film
Ragasiyam is the first runner-up for the Best Experimental Film at this year’s Indian International Film Fest.

Ragasiyam (The Secret) is a Tamil short film that was based on true events.

Surya Tamilarasan, a rising talent in the film business, directed the short film. 

Rajalakshmi Raman, the assistant director and script writer, told The Hindu Press:“Surya wandered in search of an opportunity to show off his talent but didn’t have the chance to make his own short film.

“As a result, he directed his short film with the help of his parents Tamirarasan and Athi.

She also thanked her crew’s sacrifices and hard work while worked relentlessly for the success of the film during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Even though most of them are young, they were ready to provide constant reassurance since they realise that moments like this comes only once in a lifetime,” she added

“Surya thanked all his crew members who were supportive till the end were Sivashankari, Neshman Emmanuel, Karthik, Sathya,Lavinya, Sangary, Mownw, Vinesh and Sarman,” she added.

She also shared the synopsis of the short film “Ragasiyam, which translates into “secret,” is a local Tamil short film based on true events.

The short film’s revolves on the story of women who fall victim to the social media world and frequently suffer the wrongdoings that occur in the social media world.
