National Unity Essential for Malaysia’s Progress

25th December: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Cabinet have extended Christmas greetings to all Malaysians, emphasizing the importance of unity and embracing diversity. Anwar highlighted that the nation’s racial and cultural differences contribute to its prosperity and harmony, advocating for coexistence.
He cautioned against actions that sow division or provoke racial conflict, stressing the need for mutual support in building a successful national identity. Anwar underscored that Malaysia’s progress should not be hindered by the interests of a few, calling for the elevation of universal justice principles to fulfill the aspirations of the nation’s founders for a bright future. He encouraged Malaysians to spend quality time with family and friends during the festive season.
Additionally, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor extended Christmas and New Year greetings, urging the people to strengthen unity and work together for the state’s development. He emphasized that unity is the foundation of a harmonious society and called for continued collaboration to achieve progress and prosperity, as stated in the Star.
