KUALA LUMPUR 31 AUGUST:The “Merdeka Gig in The Sky” is expected to turn into a yearly event because to the tremendous reaction from both local and foreign attendees. It was arranged by Menara Kuala Lumpur as part of the National Day Eve celebrations.

To guarantee the event’s continuous success in upcoming National Day Eve celebrations, Menara Kuala Lumpur Chief Executive Officer Nazli Saad said plans are in place to work in partnership with the Ministries of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Communications.

“We think this event has the potential to elevate Menara Kuala Lumpur as a national symbol and turn it into a major attraction for Kuala Lumpur’s National Day Eve celebrations.”Last night’s celebration was unique as we are the only tower in Kuala Lumpur offering such an experience at 300m above ground level, providing a stunning nighttime view of the city and the festive atmosphere of the 2024 National Day Eve celebration,” he stated to Bernama.

The occasion was a component of the “Merdeka Madness” campaign, which coincides with this year’s National Day celebrations and began on August 1 and runs through September 16.

According to Nazli, a number of events have been planned, such as the “Colours of Malaysia Tower Lighting,” which showcases the flag colors of Malaysia’s 14 states, and the installation of a giant Jalur Gemilang on the antenna of the 383-meter-tall tower, spanning 17.4 meters broad by 34.7 meters long.

It’s a good thing that there isn’t too much crowding here. We really enjoyed trying out different approaches, and we want to come back the following year,” he remarked. Bernama.
