2nd September 2024 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has set an ambitious target to boost Malaysia’s civil service productivity to 95% by implementing key reforms in September. Speaking at the Prime Minister’s Department assembly, Anwar acknowledged the current commendable performance but stressed the need for further improvement. He highlighted inefficiencies due to overlapping roles in merged agencies and departments, urging immediate action. Anwar also emphasized continuous improvement, citing Islamic teachings, and questioned why productivity couldn’t reach 95% if it has already improved from 70% to 85%, as stated in Malaymail.
