PM Anwar Inaugurates Malaysia’s First Sustainable Highway R&R

8th September 2024 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the opening of the country’s first sustainable rest and service (R&R) area along the southbound lane of the North-South Expressway in Seremban.
The R&R incorporates green technologies such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and EV charging stations. It is a significant milestone in prioritizing sustainability in infrastructure development, with Anwar emphasizing its potential to serve as a model for future projects.
The RM45 million redevelopment also features eco-friendly facilities and larger accommodations for travelers, as stated in Bernama.
