PM Anwar Urges ASEAN, India to Boost Digital Economy, Tourism, and Trade Relations

11th OCTOBER: At the 21st ASEAN-India Summit in Laos, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called for stronger ties between ASEAN and India, emphasizing the potential of the digital economy, tourism, and trade.
He highlighted India’s strength in digital technology and pushed for the swift conclusion of the ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement. Additionally, 2025 has been declared the Year of ASEAN-India Tourism, which will promote cultural and economic collaborations.
Joint statements on strengthening partnerships and digital transformation were adopted at the summit, as stated in Malaymail.
