Police Continue Patrols After KL Sinkhole Incident

2nd September 2024 – Following a sinkhole incident in Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur, police will maintain regular patrols to ensure public safety.
The search and rescue mission for the missing Indian tourist, Vijayalakshmi, has transitioned into a recovery phase after nine days. Dang Wangi OCPD, Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, stated that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) would handle restoration efforts, while the police focus on security.
The public is advised to avoid the area. The operation involved 194 personnel from various agencies, including the Fire and Rescue Department and Indah Water Konsortium, as stated in The Star.
