Police Investigate Viral Street Luge Incident on Balik Pulau Main Road

7 SEPTEMBER: Authorities have launched an investigation after a video showing a person engaging in street luge on a main road in Balik Pulau went viral on social media. The 47-second clip, posted by Facebook user @Arief Why Pocong Pocong, came to the attention of police at approximately 8:40 p.m. on September 6.
The footage shows an individual, equipped with a helmet, lying down on a skateboard while speeding along the road. At one point, the person sits up while still riding the board. A comment on the video suggests the incident took place at Bukit Baru, Balik Pulau.
Southwest district police chief Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal expressed concern over the reckless nature of the act, which posed a danger to both the individual and other road users. He stated that the incident is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Road Traffic (Prohibition of use of certain micromobility vehicles) Rules 2021.
