Political Funding Law Being Revised, Says PM

15th October: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the scope of the planned political funding law is still being refined. He stated that the government aims to ensure the legislation is comprehensive and addresses all necessary issues. Anwar emphasized the importance of having a fair political funding system that promotes transparency and accountability in the political landscape.
The Prime Minister mentioned that feedback from various stakeholders, including political parties and civil society organizations, is being taken into account to create a balanced law. He assured that the government is committed to finalizing the legislation and intends to present it to Parliament soon. The new law is expected to play a significant role in reforming the political funding process and enhancing democratic practices in the country, as stated in The Star.
