Put end to attack against minority Hindus in Bangladesh – WHF

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28: World Hindu Federation (WHF) international executive member, V. Kandasamy has handed over a petition to the Bangladesh High Commission here on the attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh.
The petition was handed over to Bangladesh high commission on Oct 18.
In the petition, WHF said: “Lately the Muslim mobs have been vandalizing temples all over the country. Hindu homes have been looted and even have caused death to several Hindus including a 25-year-old Hindu youngster by the name of Partha Das, whose body was found in a pond nearby a vandalized temple.
“Deepan Mithra of WHF Bangladesh chapter, contacted the relevant authorities on matter but regret to inform that your police forces are dragging their feet on this matter and no sign of halt to the violence,” it added.
According to official news sources, such atrocities have been occurring for years, particularly around the Durga Pooja festival.
This continual abuse of Hindu minority must come to an end immediately, and the perpetrators must be brought to punishment.
“Prime minister of Bangladesh, Madam Sheikh Hasina, must realize that it will not take long for Hindus to take revenge or retaliate against Muslims in Bangladesh or those living all over the world, including Malaysia.
“You and your government must take immediate action to stop this violation and attacks to assure the safety of the minority Hindus, temples and homes.
“WHF International also request an immediate meeting session with your representatives at Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur to brief us on the measures taken by your government on this matter,” the petition, which was sighted by The Hindu Press, added.
