Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition: Live Images Leak Ahead of Official Release
By Pavethran Batmanathen
The rumour mill has been in overdrive lately, especially when it comes to the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
Previously referred to as the Galaxy Fold Ultra or Galaxy Fold Slim, the new name seems to be gaining traction. Along with this, live images of the device have begun surfacing online, sparking even more curiosity about its design and features.
One such leak was provided by Android Headlines, which revealed an unfolded view of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. At first glance, the device closely resembles the base Galaxy Z Fold6. However, upon closer inspection, one noticeable difference is the larger camera bump. This change likely supports the widely speculated 200MP main camera that has been making waves in recent rumours.
Another subtle difference, not immediately apparent in the images, is the thinner design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. This slim profile may have come at the cost of the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which appears to be missing in the leaked images. Although the poor image quality makes it hard to confirm, reports indicate that the sensor has not been entirely eliminated.
As for the back of the phone, the images suggest it might feature a brushed metal finish. However, it’s unclear whether this is bare metal or if a layer of glass will be added. In most other respects, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition remains familiar. From its slightly rounded corners to the placement of the secondary camera on the outer screen, much of the design seems consistent with previous Galaxy Fold models.
It’s important to note that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is rumoured to be a limited release, exclusive to China and South Korea. While a launch date has yet to be confirmed, potential buyers outside of these regions may not have much reason to be excited—unless, of course, they plan on importing the device.
