22nd September 2024: Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg has announced that the state’s upcoming airport in Bebuling, Betong, will be equipped with cutting-edge facilities to support the region’s economic growth.
Speaking at a recent event, Abang Johari highlighted the significance of the new airport in improving connectivity and boosting agriculture, tourism, and commerce.The Premier explained that the Bebuling airport will play a vital role in facilitating the export of agricultural products, such as durian and other local crops, to international markets, particularly in East Asia.
This is part of the state’s broader agenda to strengthen Sarawak’s agro-based economy through improved logistics and infrastructure.With the inclusion of advanced technology, the airport will offer modern services that are expected to increase efficiency and provide a better experience for passengers and cargo operators.
