19th February : With the 2025/2026 academic term beginning on February 17, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of creating safe, welcoming, and hopeful learning environments.

In a Facebook post, Anwar shared his experience visiting Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Baru, where he witnessed the dedication of teachers shaping the nation’s future. He stressed that education is not just about books and exams but also about building hope, seizing opportunities, and creating dreams. He urged leaders, teachers, and parents to fulfill their responsibilities in ensuring students’ success.

Schools should provide a safe and supportive atmosphere that fosters learning and personal growth. A secure environment both physically and emotionally enhances students’ ability to focus and succeed. Ensuring safety requires well-maintained facilities, access to counselors, and an inclusive culture. Strong teacher-student relationships, clear anti-bullying policies, and a diverse curriculum contribute to a positive learning space. Proper seating, lighting, and climate control also play a role in student comfort and success.

Anwar further stated that while school and university environments may differ, the culture of service and commitment to education remains the same. (Source The Star)
