Search for Sinkhole Victim in Kuala Lumpur to Continue with Specialized Robot
By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran,
31st August 2024 – The search for an Indian national who fell into a sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur, will continue tonight with the use of a self-propelled robot from China.
This robot, equipped with cameras and designed to navigate tight spaces, is expected to enhance the ongoing search and rescue (SAR) efforts, now in their eighth day.
Heavy drilling equipment has already been used to create access points, and additional suction pipes were brought in to manage water levels.
Earlier, the Fire and Rescue Department deemed diving operations too risky due to strong underground currents, debris, and narrow spaces, as stated in Malaymail.
