Search for Sinkhole Victim to Continue Uninterrupted, Even on Merdeka Day says Fahmi Fadzil

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 August: The search for Vijayaletchumi, a 48-year-old woman who tragically fell into a sinkhole in Kuala Lumpur’s Masjid India area on August 22, 2024, remains ongoing.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has assured the public that efforts will not cease until she is found, even if it means working through Merdeka Day on August 31. Rescue teams are utilizing Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate her, despite the challenging conditions.
Vijayaletchumi’s family, while coming to terms with the likelihood of her passing, deeply hopes for the recovery of her remains to provide closure.
The incident has drawn significant attention, emphasizing the authorities’ commitment to ensuring no stone is left unturned in the search for her as stated in World of Buzz.
