Kuala Lumpur, 16th August – Selangor has recorded 46,454 dengue cases and 14 related deaths, marking a significant increase from the previous year.

The districts of Petaling, Hulu Langat, Klang, and Gombak are the most affected. Environmental factors and a more active Aedes mosquito variant are cited as the causes. Authorities are ramping up efforts to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and are urging residents to take preventive measures.

The Klang Royal City Council is also targeting illegal dumpsites to curb the spread, as stated in the Star.
