By Subaashinee Kupusamy,

29th October: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has released an alert for severe weather, warning of thunderstorms, intense rainfall, and strong winds affecting eight Malaysian states. This weather event is predicted to impact regions in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, and Malacca, as well as certain districts in Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, and Sarawak until at least noon today.

MetMalaysia has listed districts like Tumpat in Kelantan and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan as high-risk areas. The department advises residents to remain cautious, especially in areas vulnerable to flash floods, as adverse weather could increase risk to public safety. Precautionary measures are urged, including keeping indoors during thunderstorms and avoiding areas prone to flooding.

MetMalaysia also advises people to monitor weather updates closely and take precautions to avoid disruptions or accidents. Authorities are prepared to act on any emergencies resulting from this severe weather, and further updates will be provided should the storm extend beyond noon.
