Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor, known for his recent role in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, has spoken about the possibility of working in South Indian cinema. At the International Indian Film Academy Awards, Shahid expressed his interest but also shared concerns about language.
He said, “I’m open to it, but I’m unsure if the audience in the South will be happy with my language skills. I have a strong command of Hindi and wouldn’t want to leave any loose ends.”When asked if he had a preference among the South Indian industries, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, or Kannada. Shahid admitted that he is not particularly familiar with any of them.
However, he added, “If a South filmmaker trusts me, explains things well, and answers my questions, I’d be ready to dive in.”Shahid’s upcoming project Deva, where he stars alongside Pooja Hegde, sees him in the role of a cop in an action-packed thriller. Describing the film, he said, “It’s intense and full of action, with twists that will keep the audience guessing.
My character is aggressive, and the film has a vibrant energy. We’re hoping to capture that in the teaser and trailer. I’m excited to see the audience’s reaction when it releases on February 14 next year.”
