PARIS, 21 June: AirAsia has once again been named the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2023, marking the 14th consecutive year that the airline has received this prestigious recognition.

The airline has established itself as a significant carrier in Asia when it was named Best Low-Cost Airlines in Asia at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget yesterday.

In the final findings from a list of more than 325 airlines, AirAsia came out on top in its category as a global benchmark of airline quality and performance.

Capital Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, who accepted the honour on stage, highlighted the award this year as a key milestone in the company’s extraordinary recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It’s difficult to run an airline during Covid-19, but we’ve survived.” This is the most important honour I have earned in the last 21 years since we are returning from Covid-19 and winning is critical because we have proven to the world that we are the greatest despite the challenges out there….”I believe we will improve moving forward,” he told reporters after the prize ceremony.

Fernandes expressed their pride and gratitude for the valuable honour bestowed by Skytrax organisers, voters, and AirAsia’s wonderful supporters.

“Receiving an award for excellence for 14 years in a row is a remarkable accomplishment that fills our hearts with joy and humility.” This is a remarkable accomplishment for any firm in any field, but especially for our distinctively Asean brand.

“People will always be the airline’s most valuable asset, and we are thrilled to confirm that all of our 22,000 Allstars, who work tirelessly to provide the best service and experience to millions of our guests on the ground and in the air, are now back.” “This award is dedicated to Allstars and all 800 million guests and counting who have repeatedly voted for AirAsia, for being a part of its incredible journey,” he said.

Meanwhile, Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted stated that AirAsia is a survey passenger choice and has demonstrated amazing consistency every year since the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline category was added to the awards programme in 2010 as stated in New Straits Times.
