Snatch Thief Steals Woman’s Handbag in Broad Daylight at Bukit Bintang, Dashcam Footage Goes Viral

11 SEPTEMBER: A dashcam video capturing a snatch thief stealing a woman’s handbag at the busy Bukit Bintang intersection in Kuala Lumpur has gone viral, sparking public outrage. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, shows the thief riding past the pedestrian and grabbing her handbag while she crosses the road. The victim is seen falling to the ground as the suspect flees on a motorcycle.
The 17-second footage, timestamped at 2:16 pm on Sunday, 8 September, also captures another motorcyclist immediately pursuing the thief. While bystanders rushed to assist the fallen woman, questions have been raised about the motives of the motorcyclist chasing the suspect.
Shared by China Press on YouTube, the video has garnered over 64,000 views at the time of writing. Some viewers expressed skepticism about the motorcyclist’s involvement, speculating that he might be an accomplice to the crime. One user commented, “The accomplice chased after the suspect on a motorcycle. He didn’t really pay attention to the woman!” Another netizen questioned, “Are you sure the motorcyclist chasing the thief wasn’t part of the plan?”
The incident has triggered a wave of concern over public safety in Kuala Lumpur, with many netizens lamenting the worsening state of security. One person remarked, “Public security is getting worse these days.”
As the video continues to circulate online, the authorities have yet to release any official statement regarding the matter as stated in Saysdotcom.
