Sri Lankan singing sensation Yohani to make Bollywood debut in ‘Thank God’

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20: Sri Lankan singing sensation Yohani is ready to make her Bollywood debut in Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh’s “Thank God”.

Yohani will perform the Hindi rendition of her blockbuster track “Manike Mage Hithe” in the film.

Tanishk will compose the music, while Rashmi Virag is the lyric writer.

In a statement, Yohani said: “I have gotten incredible love and support from India and am incredibly thankful to Bhushan Kumar, Indra Kumar, and the whole Thank God crew for presenting the Hindi version of my music in the film.”

“I’m excited to visit India soon,” she said.

Meanwhile, director Indra Kumar said: “Yohani’s song has become a tremendous phenomenon, and I am really grateful to Bhushanji for providing me this blockbuster tune to be a part of Thank God.

“We’re all really enthusiastic for this version, and we’ll be filming the track shortly. Thank God is a one-of-a-kind slice-of-life comedy, and my entire team and I am excited to offer it to audiences next year,” he said.

Meanwhile, producer Bhushan Kumar said they are ecstatic to work with Yohani.

“We are really excited to be working with such a brilliant musician like Yohani and delivering her hit single Manike Mage Hithe in the first Desi version for Indian listeners,” he added.

“We’ve always been on the cutting edge of musical trends, and this will be a thrilling track for all Indian lovers. Thank God is a great family entertainer for all audiences to enjoy, and we are anxiously anticipating its theatrical release shortly,” he added.
