Strong Currents Halt Search for Missing Woman in Sinkhole
By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran 29th August 2024 – Search efforts for a missing Indian woman in Kuala Lumpur have been hindered by rising water levels and strong undercurrents in a sinkhole at Jalan Masjid India.
Two firemen from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department attempted to dive into the sewage tunnel but were forced to abandon the effort due to unsafe conditions.
The woman, Vijayaletchumy, 48, has been missing for seven days after falling into the eight-meter-deep sinkhole. The search continues with divers and specialized detection units on site, as stated in Malaymail
