Struggling family receive help after raising white flag

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5: The Covid-19 pandemic has brought suffering to many. Malaysians.
Thousands of people have lost their job and are suffering to make ends meet.
V. Pavinthiran, 24, who was in desperate need for food and essentials decided to put up a white flag infront of his house.
Thanks to the white flag or #benderaputih campaign, support started to pour as kind Malaysian noticed Pavinthiran’s plea.
Pavinthiran, who lives together with his mother M.Tamil Selve, 52 and his grandmother A. Sarasivathi, 72 in Kampung Changkat Dain, Penang, loss his source of income due to the pandemic.
Pavinthiran said that he got to know about the #benderaputih movement from his neighbour and decided to fly the white flag seeking for help.
“We started to receive food and essential item from our neighbours and kind Malaysians,” he told The Hindu Press when contacted.
Pavinthiran also expressed disappointments as his family is not receiving any assistance from the government.
