More than 170 families, comprising 588 evacuees, were affected by the floods. During his visit, the Sultan showed deep concern for the wellbeing of those displaced, particularly asking about their safety and health. He also provided financial aid of RM300 per household through the Sultan Kedah Trust Fund. The gesture was well-received, with evacuee Natrah Saad expressing heartfelt gratitude, especially as she cared for her grandson with cerebral palsy.

The flooding in Kedah resulted from continuous heavy rainfall, which led to the displacement of many families across the region. The Sultan’s visit aimed not only to provide monetary support but also to boost the morale of those affected by the natural disaster. His direct involvement was seen as a symbol of solidarity and compassion for his people. The royal visit further highlighted the importance of addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly those with special circumstances, such as the elderly and disabled.

Sultan Sallehuddin’s generosity underscores his commitment to the welfare of Kedah’s citizens, especially in times of crisis. The initiative has been lauded by many for its personal touch, offering both financial and emotional relief. The Sultan’s compassion stands as an inspiring example of leadership and care during challenging times for the state.

The floods have impacted several regions, and efforts to manage and mitigate future incidents continue to be a priority for local authorities, as stated in Malaymail.
