Suriya 44 Completes Filming! Release Info for Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj’s Upcoming Film

On Sunday, it was officially announced that the filming of Suriya 44 (working title), written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has successfully wrapped up. The film’s lead actor and co-producer, Suriya, took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to share the exciting news, accompanied by a striking black-and-white photograph of him warmly embracing the director.
Suriya 44 is a collaborative production between Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films. Initially, there were strong rumors suggesting that the film would release during Pongal in January 2025. However, as of now, it has been confirmed that Suriya 44 will not be hitting theaters for the Pongal 2025 holiday.
The film boasts an ensemble cast, with Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Sandeep Raj, Murugavel, and Remya Suresh among the actors. MD Asif also joins the cast, and Shriya Saran will make a special appearance in a song. The film’s music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while Shreyaas Krishna handles the cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali is in charge of the editing.
With such a talented lineup both in front of and behind the camera, Suriya 44 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year. Fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on its official release date.
