KUALA LUMPUR, 12 AUGUST: Even though Abdul Qayyim Roslan is getting married today, he made time to participate in the Selangor election before the solemnization ceremony. The 26-year-old employee of a company in Bangsar went at the voting location at SMK Seri Keramat here around 7.57am to cast his ballot while dressed in white Baju Melayu with samping.
“It is crucial that I take responsibility for this first since it is my duty as a citizen of Malaysia. My future wife and I spoke, and she concurred that I need to cast the ballot first. I’m going to Selayang for my solemnization ceremony as soon as I finish voting. After our ceremony ends this afternoon, my future bride will vote there,” he remarked when he was approached outside the polling place for the Lembah Jaya state seat.
Famous rapper Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, more commonly known by his stage as Altimet, is running for the Lembah Jaya state seat against Sharifah Haslizah Syed Ariffin, a Perikatan Nasional candidate.
A three-way race is taking place for the Bukit Antarabangsa seat between PH candidate Mohd Kamri Kamarudin, PN candidate Sasha Lyna Abdul Latif, and Melanie Ting of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance as stated by New Straits Times.
