The Historic Penang Waterfall Hill Temple

11th OCTOBER: The Balathandayuthapani Temple, located near the Penang Botanic Gardens Waterfall, has a rich history. Initially built near the waterfall for Lord Murugan worship, the British relocated it in 1850 due to reservoir construction.
Devotees now ascend 513 steps to the temple’s hilltop site, offering breathtaking views. The temple features intricate architecture inspired by Chola and Pandya styles, with Burmese teak doors and a seven-tier Raja Gopuram.
The Maha Kumbabishegam ceremony in 2012 attracted Hindu priests from India and Bali, further enhancing its spiritual significance, as stated in Astro Ulagam.
