THE SECOND HIGHEST COUNTRY FOR RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IS MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur, 20th May 2021: Even in this 21st century, racial discrimination still happens among us but most importantly in Malaysia. In Malaysia, this matter is a very touchy subject. It’s one thing for Malaysians to be racist with each other but when that racial discrimination gets global attention, Malaysians do not take it lightly. According to recent research on a global survey by data portal, Indexmundi, Malaysia ranked the 2nd country for racial discrimination, behind South Africa.
Malaysia had 451 responses and the participants were asked, “ How big of a problem is racial discrimination in the country where you live?”. This issue blew up on social media sites like Twitter, and Reddit where netizens debated the results of the survey. A lot of Malaysians were not satisfied with the results, because some countries were left out from the survey.
However, there were also many netizens who admitted racism does happen, while others were quick to defend that the situation is worse in other countries.
