Thousands Rally in Paris to Protest Genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh

Paris, 13 August: According to Dipan Mitra, the Secretary General of the World Hindu Federation Bangladesh Chapter, the historic Place de la République in Paris became the epicentre of a massive protest rally organized by expatriate Hindus, raising their voices against the ongoing atrocities committed against the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh.
The rally was held in response to a wave of violence that erupted across 53 districts in Bangladesh following the resignation and departure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024.
The rally drew thousands of participants, including members of the World Hindu Federation – European Union Chapter and Justice Makers Bangladesh in France. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as the crowd chanted slogans condemning the brutal attacks on Hindus, the destruction of temples, and the abduction of Hindu women.
The demonstrators expressed deep frustration over the apparent inaction of the Bangladeshi military and government in curbing the violence.Speakers at the event delivered impassioned speeches, calling on international human rights organizations and global leaders to intervene and protect the minority Hindu population in Bangladesh.
They demanded swift prosecution of the perpetrators, exemplary punishments, and proper compensation and rehabilitation for the victims.
The protestors also presented a set of proposals to the Government of Bangladesh, urging the creation of a Ministry of Minority Affairs, the protection of religious sites, the elimination of state religion, and the enforcement of laws regarding the return of vested property.
This rally in Paris underscores the growing concern and solidarity among the global Hindu diaspora in response to the escalating violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
The demonstrators vowed to continue their efforts until justice is served and the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh is assured as stated in Press Release of ‘Protest Rally in Paris, France against the Genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh.’
