By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran,

4th November: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning affecting Kuala Lumpur and eight other states, valid until noon today. The warning indicates that these areas may experience heavy rain, strong winds, and possible lightning strikes.

The states under this alert include Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor, Pahang, Perak, Penang, and Kedah. Residents in these regions are advised to remain cautious and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. MetMalaysia has urged the public to stay updated on weather conditions through their official channels.

In addition to the thunderstorm warning, MetMalaysia has highlighted that the affected areas might face localized flooding due to the anticipated heavy rainfall. The department recommends that individuals avoid outdoor activities during severe weather and stay indoors if possible.

This warning is part of ongoing efforts by MetMalaysia to keep the public informed about changing weather patterns and potential hazards. As thunderstorms can develop rapidly, it is crucial for residents to be vigilant and prepared for sudden weather changes.

Authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary. Residents are encouraged to check MetMalaysia’s website or social media platforms for real-time information regarding weather alerts and safety recommendations, as stated in Malaymail.
