Two Dead, Five Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision on Bentong-Raub Road

9th September 2024 – A devastating accident involving a Perodua Alza, Perodua Myvi, and Toyota Avanza resulted in the deaths of two people and left five others injured.
The incident occurred at Kilometer 12 on Jalan Bentong-Raub at around 1:20 pm. Bentong district police chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, stated that the Myvi, driven by a 41-year-old man, lost control and veered into the opposite lane, colliding with the Alza and Avanza.
The two fatalities, Amir Naharuddin (38) and Faridah Abdul Rahman (67), were passengers in the Alza. The injured individuals, aged between 30 and 70, include the Myvi driver and passengers from both the Alza and Avanza. All were transported to Bentong Hospital for medical treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. The authorities urge caution on the roads, especially in wet conditions, as stated in Berita Harian.
