The event was held to mark the United Nations International Day of Peace and aimed to promote peace, unity, and understanding between different faiths.

Ms Praveeniah, secretary of UMHV told to THP.

“The first part of the event was the Youth Peace Exchange, where young people from different backgrounds came together to discuss important topics. They talked about youth engagement, peacebuilding, and how to make the world more sustainable. The discussion helped build understanding between the participants and encouraged them to work together to solve big global problems. It also highlighted how young people can lead projects that promote peace and sustainability in their communities.

The second part of the event was the Interfaith Music and Dance Festival. It celebrated Malaysia’s cultural diversity with colorful music and dance performances. They actively participated in the festival and supported the idea of interfaith dialogue and unity.”

A special moment during the festival was when YB Senator Saraswathy Kandasami, the Deputy Minister of National Unity, gave a speech. She spoke on behalf of the Minister of National Unity, YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang. Her message was clear: the government is committed to building peace and unity in Malaysia. After the program, United Malaysian Hindu Voice presented Senator Saraswathy with a token of appreciation, showing their dedication to promoting peace and respect between all religious communities.

UMHV’s involvement in this event was a great example of their ongoing efforts to support peace, unity, and cultural exchange. The festival ended with everyone hoping that such interfaith efforts will continue to inspire more Malaysians to embrace the values of peace and harmony.

United Malaysian Hindu Voice (UMHV) remains committed to promoting peace and unity in Malaysia, supporting the United Nations’ mission for international peace.
