UTP Breaks Into Top 250 in World University Rankings

9th OCTOBER: Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) made history by ranking in the top 250 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024. This marks the university’s highest position to date, improving from last year’s ranking of 301-350. UTP is the highest-ranked private university in Malaysia and second among all Malaysian universities.
The rankings evaluate universities based on teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. UTP excelled in research citations, boosting its position globally. The university’s efforts in improving academic performance, research quality, and international collaborations have significantly contributed to this success.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, expressed pride in UTP’s achievements and emphasized their continuous commitment to enhancing quality education and contributing to Malaysia’s goal of becoming a global education hub.
