KUALA LUMPUR, 4th May : The philosophical celebration of Vallabharcharya Jayanthi is a day to cherish the renowned Vallabacharya who is known for his greater devotion to Lord Krishna. The event, observed on Ekadashi Tithi in May 2024, denotes his 545th birth anniversary. His birthday anniversary is being celebrated and cherished on the day when Lord Krishna appeared in front of Shri Vallabharcharya in the form of Shrinath Ji.
Shri Vallabhacharya was a highly praised Hindu Scholar where he had an inspiring establishment over Vedas and Upanishads. He was also addressed as Vallabha or Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya. Vallabhacharya was brought up in a Telugu Brahmin family in 1479 AD. He was the youngest child in the family and became a writer in his early stage of life where he wrote beautiful poems and stories about Lord Krishna and his everlasting grace upon all beings.
According to evident Hindu Scriptures, once Vallabacharya was traveling towards the North and West part of India, he came across an unique thing that resides near the Govardhan Parvati’s where the Cow was shedding milk on a specific spot of a mountain. As Shri Vallabhacharya goes deeper into the place he found a beautiful idol of Lord Krishna and it was in the form of Shrinath Ji. It is also believed that Shrinath Ji aka Lord Krishna appeared in front of him and embraced him tightly. Since then, Vallabhacharya Ji Started worshiping Lord Krishna in Bala Roopam (in a child form) with an ardent love and devotion.
Vallabhacharya Jayanthi, is celebrated on the day of Varuthini Ekadhisi. This day is prominently celebrated in Gujarat, Maharashthra, Chennai, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with pride and gratitude. They offer prayers to Lord Krishna Paramathma by making a visit to a temple which is specially built and dedicated to Shrinath Ji and the temple is located in Nathdwara. They do chantings or holy mantras and some of the devotees will observe fast for this whole day to seek the blessings of both Lord Krishna Paramathma and Shri Vallabhacharya.
