Woman’s Decomposed Body Found in Shah Alam Monsoon Drain

Kuala Lumpur, August 17, 2024: The finding of a decomposing body in a sewer today surprised the residents of Dillenia, Seksyen U11, Bukit Bandarata, Shah Alam – New Straits Times
The body was found to be that of a lady who was just wearing a shirt and pants. It was covered with maggots.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the head of Shah Alam police, people in the community discovered the body floating in a monsoon drain around 6:30 p.m. and alerted the authorities right away – New Straits Times
“The deceased’s identity is still unknown, but initial checks confirmed she was a woman,” he said in a press release issued in the evening.
Upon forensic examination, the Selangor police unit could not find any obvious wounds or indications of a struggle that may have contributed to the death.
The corpse has been taken to the forensics department of Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination in order to ascertain the cause of death. This instance is categorised as sudden death – New Straits Times
