World Record-Malaysia Silambam Porr Kalai Mandram

Kuala Lumpur, April 30: Malaysia Silambam Porr Kalai Mandram members broke a new world record with a 72-hour non-stop demonstration of southern Indian martial arts, according to Makkal Osai. This event took place at Dataran Nilai, Negeri Sembilan from 21 April 2022 to 24 April 2022. One of the student from the Porkalai team said that he has took part in the International & Asean World tournament previously.
Recently, the Porr Kalai team have organized ‘Malaysia Book of Record’ and ‘Cholar World Record’. This includes one individual performance by the Grandmaster Mr. N. Mooralitharan which includes 24 hours stick rotation and continues group demonstration for 72 hours by the Porr Kalai team. More than 180 participants have participated in this group demonstration, says Master Sivaneswaran to the Hindu Press.
Strengthening Indian martial arts in Malaysia is the reason of success, said the grandmaster to The Hindu Press. Additionally, they would also like to reward their Porr Kalai warrior with some records title. Continuous motivation and the teamwork from other state Porr Kalai masters were the initial reasons to achieve this record, says Master Sivaneswaran. The Porr Kalai team said that they are looking forward for more enrollment of students to learn this ancient art.
Lastly, answering query of Hindu Press on the advise to the upcoming generation regarding Silambam, the master said that this art creates individuals with vast quality especially in disciplines.
