Young talent: Perananti wows netizens by playing piano ‘blindfolded’

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5: Ever heard of magic? That’s what 21-year-old Perananti Velo delivered when the wows her Instagram followers by playing piano blindfolded.
“I started learning piano when I was fourteen years old.
“I started with Karnatikam and then moved on to Western. Piano is similar to the ocean, I’m still learning and will continue to learn. It took me almost a year to perform an entire tune,” Perananti told The Hindu Press.
“My initial ambition is to work in the Malaysian music industry. Mr. Mugen Rao, a Malaysian artist, is my inspiration. I aspire to be like him.
“When I was thinking about how I may be distinct from others, I started learning piano blindfolded.
“As a student, I always practise after my classes, which is at night, and the silence helps me come up with new ideas,” she added.
“I want to finish my degree then, travel to Chennai, and become independent musician,” she said when asked about her future ambitions.
“My family and friends are my biggest supporters, and I’ll keep working hard to attain my goals,” she added.
