30 JANUARY:Marcus Rashford needs to adapt in order to play for Manchester United again, according to coach Ruben Amorim, ahead of their last Europa League league phase match against Romanian club Steaua Bucharest.The England striker has not played for United since last month, when he stated that he was ready for a fresh challenge in his career.
Amorim stated on Sunday that he would rather have a goalie coach on the bench than a player who does not give his all.”Imagine a talent like Rashford; our team would be so much better with him. “But he needs to change,” Amorim told reporters.”If he changes, we are more than happy (to include him), and we require it. However, at this point, we must establish certain standards.
We’re waiting for Rashford, if he really wants it.Amorim stated that he had nothing personal against Rashford, who has 287 Premier League appearances for United since 2015.”I have to make the same rules for everybody,” the manager stated.”We are a better team with Rashford, that is clear, but until the right moment I will not change my mind.
“A draw on Thursday would be enough for United, who are now fourth in the standings, to secure straight qualification to the round of 16 and boost their poor season.I believe we can all progress as a team if we make time to train and win several games together. So it will be much easier,” Amorim explained.
